Y Messenger for iPhone

Today I’ve seen that Yahoo launched the Yahoo Messenger for mobile phones and also for iPhone. This is a kewl choice, nice of the guys at Yahoo! :) Of course, I could not find in AppStore this application, only the Yahoo app which “combines all your crucial web services into one”.
But I don’t need all that “crucial” services, I only need Y Mess to test it.
What will happen in the close future, if you’re considering the fact that FRING it’s a very good tool and has some advantage in front of Y! Mess?

Of course, we’re talking about one of the most popular web applications versus a quasi-unknown app like FRING, but let’s not forget that FRING was offering a great messenger while the guys at Yahoo were striving (maybe??) to launch the mobile version.

Details (and a video) here: http://messenger.yahoo.com/iphone

LATER EDIT: I’ve just managed to install & use a little bit of the new Y! Messenger for iPhone app (ver 1.0) and it’s super kewl. I mean, near the usual contact list you can use most of the stuff that you were used to:
- can set a status
- can log in into (or change status to) invisible mode
- can use emoticons
- can send pictures, either from the phone or instant shots
- can send SMS messages by specifying the phone number (didn’t tried)

I’ve made some printscreens, maybe I will upload them here later today…
