Romanian Online Advertising – one step closer to perfection
I’ve just found out via Clickio that the Romanian Online Advertising Market has made another important step in its continuous development: now users can report banners that are not IAB compliant. This means that our industry has opened the ears and eyes to its “clients” (or maybe it’s better said suppliers), I am seeing this opportunity as a small client service department combined with a small PR department.
Now, my opinion on this is that even this is an important step for the industry we’ll have to start EDUCATE people (users-consumers, clients-advertisers). Not every overlayer banner is meant to drive you crazy, not every intrusive format is “out of the bounds” if they’re created according to the IAB rules (close button, no sound on start, time on screen, etc).
So, if you’ve seen a banner “out of the bounds” and you think it’s not OK, please report it to

What’s the matter with IAB Romania?
IAB Romania is the Romanian authority when it comes to online advertising, they are setting the rules regarding banner formats, banner regulations and all the industry rules. I’m happy to see that Ionut is doing efforts to involve IAB in our market, this is another great action after the last year PwC study regarding the Romanian online advertising market value.
